I am being told that I need to d/l adobe flash player????

I am being prompted my by new pcto d/l adobe flash player.....I go to Adobe and try to d/l and it says "you do not need to d/l the flash player...it isalready installed on your pc.."  I rebooted, I disabled Active X filtering and enabled the flash player....and still can not jplay games...???  HELP   please
