We encounter a problem "TypeError: Error #2046" in using Flash Player.

Occurred similar error:
https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1837656

Also in this case, we may have a problem with the certificate that was used to sign the component.

If the same case, what file is causing a problem?

Steps to Reproduce:

Actual Result:
TypeError: Error #2046

Expected Result:
No Exception

Any Workarounds:
Nothing

The certificates used to sign the original copies of many older RSLs expired a few months ago.  We re-signed them with a certificate good through 2026 long before they expired, but a lot of companies that were hosting their own copies of the shared libraries and didn't pick them up.  We've also noticed that in rare instances, some users need to clear their local RSL cache in order to pick up the new SWZ files, even if they are hosted directly on Adobe servers.

To clear the RSL cache on a user's machine, do the following:

    Go here: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html

Uncheck "Store common Flash components to reduce download times"

    Click Confirm

    Recheck the dialog.

For self-hosted RSLs, there's a pretty good thread here:

I am having the same issue, but the macromedia screen is not displaying properly. (The screen is trying to run a script, and flickering, etc.) Eventually I was able to I think click the right stuff, but it did not alleviate the issue. However, I have no way to be sure.

I am having the issue on espn.3, and it appeared suddenly if I recall correctly on June 16.

I have installed two different versions of Flash Player and all result in the problem, in addition to the one that is already there.

    Is there any other solution?

Are you using an adblocker or something?  (AdBlock pro, privacy badger, ghostery, etc?)

If you visit the Flash Player Help page and click the "Check Now" button, what is the exact version number of Flash Player that is reported as installed?
