I am having trouble updating Adobe Flash from Firefox on Windows Vista.
There's a screen that pops up that says "Installation will begin shortly."
Then nothing happens for almost 5 minutes, and it stays at 0%.

Lets try using the manual installation or also known as the offline installer.
Go to this page:
Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows
Go to the bottom and choose the version for Firefox and download it.
Close Firefox all windows.
Verify that the following processes are not running using task manager
flashplayer* ; meaning anything with the process of flash player
Firefox
plugin-container
force close the weather channel desktop app if you have that
Next run the installer you downloaded here is the direct DL link for it. http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player.exe
If you Install, verify it control panel that it is installed, and test in Firefox on this page at the top:Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows
