I am installing adobe flash player 12, but it doesn't respond

My laptop: Mac Air with 10.9.1 OSX

Brower: Safari

Completely uninstalled Adobe flash player?: Yes

Problem: when I was installing adobe flash player 12, after I entered  admins password, furthur steps didn't show up, neither there was anything saying Adobe flash player was installing. It didn't install after all.

Help please...
