I am trying to download flash player for Mac Os X 10.4.11

Please, can you give me step by step instructions on how to download flashplayer for my Mac? I already went to the archived flash player page, but it doesn't seem to download successfully. Which version should I download?

Hi vanessazaki,

The version you need depends on the processor in your computer.  If you have PPC you need version 10.1.102.64.  If you have Intel you need version 10.3.183.90.

  1. For 10.1.102.64, download the file http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0_archive.zip.
    • Extract the contents of the zip file and then navigate to the 10_1r102_64 directory
    • Use the file flashplayer10_r102_64_ub_mac.dmg to install Flash Player
  2. For 10.3.183.90, download the file http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_10.3.183.90_archive_mac_only.zip.
    • Extract the contents of the zip file and then navigate to the 10_r_r183_90 directory
    • Use the file flashplayer_10_3r183_90_mac_intel.dmg to install Flash Player

Note that these versions are very old, have not been updated with security fixes and may be blocked by some browsers and/or websites that require newer versions of Flash Player.

What do you mean by "Extract the contents of the zip file and then navigate to the 10_1r102_64 directory" and how do I do that?

Hi vanessazaki,

After the file downloads, double-click it to open it.  Once it's open drag the folder to your desktop.  Navigate inside the folder to the 10_1r102_64 directory then select the file I mentioned to install Flash Player.
