I am trying to install flash player but it keeps telling me I have insufficient permissions

I am currently trying to download a Flash update on my MacBook Pro and it keeps telling me I have insufficient permissions to do so. Having spoken with Apple Support they've said there are no issues with my user permissions as I am an admin so this is an Adobe issue. I have the same 'permissions' issue when I try to save changes when using photoshop and it is driving me insane. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Gina,

Sorry for the trouble updating Flash and using Photoshop. Looks like there may be some permissions issues on the system there.

A couple ways to solve this --

  1. Repair your disk permissions - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201560
  2. Create a new user account, and try working in that account (New accounts create new clean permissions) - blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2012/07/photoshop-basic-troubleshooting-steps-to-fix-most-issues.html#Permissions

Give those suggestions a try and let us know how it goes.
