I'm using google chrome on MAC, and I was trying to download the flash player intially however the site stated that  my flash player is up to date and I just need to enable it. When I tried to follow the directions given for MAC the "about:plugins" site read:

This site can’t be reached

The webpage at chrome://plugins/ might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

ERR_INVALID_URL

So I'm not quite sure what to do at this point. Thank you for the help in advance!

Thank you, it's working! What if I wanted to install the additional plugins? but it says I need permission for local hard drive so I was unable to do so

Are you referring to the NPAPI plugin for Firefox/Safari?  If so, the I suspect you're referring to the dialog window prompting for Admin password to install.  If so, this is your computer, not Flash Player prompting for the password.  Please see What userid & password do I need to install Flash Player? for assistance
