Hi richards29982833,

I'm assuming you're trying to install Flash Player for IE.  If so, Microsoft embeds Flash Player for IE in Windows 8 and above.  Microsoft distributes Flash Player for IE updates via Windows Updates.  You can run Windows Updates to get the latest version.  If it doesn't show up there, you can download the update directory from this Microsoft Tech Note:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3087040‌.  Links to Microsoft's updates are also posted at the bottom of the Flash Player Issues | Windows 8 page.

I get windows updates automatically and I tried the Microsoft tech note.  Each time the attempted download says not compatible with my system.  I tried both 32 and 64 setup.  Thank you for your suggestion.

Hi richards29982833,

Since Microsoft releases the updates, I don't know why it's returning the not compatible error.  It's possible you're missing some update and need to install that before before you can install this update. You can run Windows Update manually to check if there are available updates.  Another thing to check is if you have any hidden updates, and if so are they related to IE or Flash Player.

Another possibility is to install an older Flash Player update and then see if you can install a more recent one. Flash Player 15.0.0.246, is the update after the one you have installed, and is available on this KB page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3008925.  You can give this a try.  If it works you can try updating to the most current version again.

If none of these work, I recommend contacting Microsoft support (support.microsoft.com) or posting your question on the Microsoft community forum (answers.microsoft.com)
