Question

I have a workstation that has flashplayer installed. When I go to websites requiring flash, the website tells me that I do not have it installed. Internet Explorer 9 shows it installed but not currently loaded. Its on a Windows 7 machine.

I have a workstation that has flashplayer installed. When I go to websites requiring flash, the website tells me that I do not have it installed. Internet Explorer 9 shows it installed but not currently loaded.  Its on a Windows 7 machine.

I was having this problem with flash 17, so I updated to the latest version 18 and it still persists.  Is there a registry setting or other way I can get IE to load this?

If you've gone to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer using Internet Explorer and have performed the installation (installing from another browser is going to get you Flash Player for that browser/plugin-architecture), then either it's disabled in the browser settings, you're using an ad-blocking or anti-tracking plugin that's preventing the website you're looking at from launching Flash content, or the website you're looking at is using faulty code for detecting Flash.

Confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
