I have enabled flash player and disabled ActiveX filtering, but still no success..any ideas!?!

On various sites I can't play the video, it says "you need to install flash player"..... so I go to the adobe website and their "Test" tells me that I have the latest version, so it then says to make sure that it is enabled via "manage add-ons" and/or to disable ActiveX filtering, both of which I have done, and still no luck. Hopefully someone may know what the next move is here, any help would be very much appreciated, Thanks.
