I have tried all the suggested tips but can not get flash player to install on my windows xp system.  A screen appears and says flash player successfully installed.  It also says I should see a movie screen with text below to know it has been successfully installed .  I dont see this.  (Also seems weird way to notify  but what do I know?)

I did not see that text or movie either and so I uninstalled and re-installed like everyone suggested and rebooted and still nothing.  I then uninstalled my previous version of the flash player and still nothing. The I got an updated of adobe reader 9.2 for the heck of it since I was trying to make sure I had everything my husband had since his worked and that did not help either. I finally got it to work when l I enabled shockwave in the manage add on selection on the tool menu a couple minutes ago.

Thanks so much for your post, I had been trawling all the

other suggestions and following the hints without success.

I clicked on the manage addons as you suggested and enabled shockwave, immediate success.

    Thanks

Just wanted to pop in and say, good job galhe! There is a wealth of information in this forum. One of the easiest ways is to use the search forums. Nice to see. By the way, that is the first thing to check, if it is not there, FP will not work, then it

is back to square one. Don't forget Java, youtube and other sites want the latest Java( which is JRE 6 update 18 as of yesterday) just like they ask for the latest Flash Player version. Just a FYI.
