I have the mms.cfg file configured to disable auto updates, but I have noticed that the auto updater service still runs every hour on my systems.

I have deployed Adobe Flash version 19 with SCCM 2012 R2 and configured the mms.cfg file with the following settings:


AutoUpdateDisable=1

SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0


However, the auto updater service is still running every hour.

This CANNOT happen and I need assistance to help disable this service completely.

HI iamsiraskalot,

What you are observing is expected behaviour. The Background Update Service is waking up to check the mms.cfg file to check the update settings to determine if it should query the Adobe servers for an update.  Since updates are disabled, the Background Update Service goes back to sleep and does not query the Adobe server for an update.

I understand it is expected, but in my environment it is not desired. I will just create a PowerShell script to delete the Scheduled Tasks then.
