I keep getting a new installation of Adobe Flash Player every few minutes. How can I stop this?

I have the latest version and yet it keeps trying to download and install every few minuutes. Is there anyway I can stop this?

XP and Internet Explorer 8. I had downloaded Firefox too and removing it caused the Adobe Flask player aDownloads to stop so I guess that helped. I also added Googl;e Chrome and tht dosn't seem to bother the player at all. Thanks.

There are two different Flash Player Plugins for Windows (3 if you count Google Chrome, but it's built in and functions independently of the other two).

The one for Firefox won't affect IE.

Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)

Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

Download and run both of those. That should have you up to date.
