Question

I want Flash, period - and nothing else.

I just updated my Flash - which I already hate doing - to find more junk that I didn't want called Tru Key.  I'm not a big tech person, so I try to be careful with what I put on this machine - if it gets screwed up by some errant software, I'm out of luck, I don't know to fix major issues.  I also run Ad Block - I see by someone else's post that this is what kept me from seeing your "opt out" boxes.  That's just not right Adobe.  My impression of your company for a very long time, is that you don't care about your customers, or their individual wants - you've gotten so big that it no longer matters, and you can do whatever you want.  Anybody can go from being top dog to bottoming out, including you.  Prove me wrong - fix this.  Either stop with this bloatware completely, or find a better way to serve up the ability to opt out.

Thank you,

Snapdragon

If you downloaded Flash Player by navigating to Adobe's website, you were presented with checkboxes to opt-out of the bundled downloads.  Adobe provides Flash Player free of charge, but its tremendously expensive to distribute and maintain.  Adobe is a for-profit corporation, and those distribution agreements help to offset those costs.

The only official way to get Flash Player is to go here:

    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

One of the common ways that this problem happens, is that a browser vendor will set up a link inside their browser's plug-in manager UI that attempts to circumvent our distribution page, and they link to the wrong payload.  This unfortunately is beyond our control, and sometimes results in people getting unwanted bundled software.  If this is what happened, I would highly recommend filing a bug with the browser vendor.
