IE 7 and Flash Player add on issue

I have a user with flash player 10c and IE7 who randomly gets an error saying that this add on was running when internet explorer crashed.  I've tried using the uninstaller then reinstalling the add on but there is no change.  I can't ask the user to use firefox as we are a IE shop per policy.

Has anyone had this issue and resolved it to where it will work with the add on and IE7?

Thanks

Hi TRScott, It is not clear what you mean by this add on. In Add/Remove, Flash Player 10 ActiveX should be listed.

In Tools>manage add ons, Shockwave Flash Object......... ActiveX.........Flash10c.ocx should be listed and it must be Enabled.  You may want to check that.

Adobe has issued an update and the new version of FP is 10.42.34.

The add on is enabled but it keeps causing IE7 to crash that's the issue.  I get a error box when it crashes saying that the add on was

running when Internet Explorer shut down unexpectedely.  It has nothing to do with enabling the add on as it is enabled.

Hi, You didn't mention the OS you are running. The add on Shockwave Flash Object is not the problem. Perhaps when you

uninstalled FP, the older ActiveX version was not removed. You might want to check the Flash folder and see what is listed there. IE7 and IE8 have permission features and also Administrative features. Also you didn't say if the uninstall was completed or if the install was successful. Did you confirm with Adobe that FP was installed and what version?

Flash10c may well have been listed as an error, but it is not the fact that it is in the add ons. It must be there as I previously stated, otherwise FP will not work. FP is a browser plug-in, an activeX in IE and a SWF plug-in in Firefox.

If you are running Vista, then you need to take a look at the requirements.
