Installation of Adobe flash player HELP!!!

I have been trying to install the flash player on my system.. It says it is installed but it is not. I am not all that great with computers but if given instruction I can do pretty good.... PLEASE someone help me get this going!!

    How can you tell that FP is not installed?

    Did you go to the adobe site and down

    load flash player 10 ? - in your add/remove page it should say Active X next to it, if it doesn't you download the wrong thing.

    I am running windows xp.... when I download it it says installed but when I go to my add/remove programs it is listed but not the space it takes up...my daughter tried to play music on her playlist .com and it says install adobe flash player....I dont know what is going on, I even tried blocking my anti-virus first. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

    What exactly do you have listed in Add/Remove Programs for Adobe Flash Player (ActiveX and/or Plugin)?

    And still, what browser(s) do you use?
