installation of flash player beyond frustrating

I have repeatedly tried to download flash player. Upwards of 20 times. It would say complete. I would go to a site and it would say no flash player. I went online and it said uninstall and reinstall. I did that. Same result. I tried going to the enable part in internet explorer. It says enabled. I go to flash player site it says no flash player installed. I am so beyond frustrated right now.
