Question

Installing an older version of flash

Due to a bug with the most recent flash update, I am unable to play a game which requires flash.

The game has recommended me to uninstall flash and reinstall an earlier version, 23.0.0.27.

I have successfully uninstalled flash, and there is no flash player on my Mac.

I have clicked the link for 23.0.0.27 which I found on Archived Adobe Flash Player versions and it has been saved in my downloads folder on Firefox.

Despite closing and relaunching the Firefox app multiple times, it appears that flash is not on my computer and I still can't play the game.

How do I resolve this?

Thanks

It's possible Firefox is blocking the old version of Flash Player as they are known to do that.

What game is this and what is the bug?

I wouldn't recommend installing older versions of Flash Player as they have known security vulnerabilities that are actively being exploited.  If you must downgrade, downgrade to the most recent version, 24.0.0.194, not 23.0.0.207 (I'm assuming 207 as there isn't a 23.0.0.27 version) which was released 3 months ago in November 2016.
