Installing Flash 24

I have tried to install Flash 24 and the installation appears successful.  The program is in my program file and the add-ons reflect that Shockwave Flash is enabled.  But when I check the Adobe site it states that Flash is not installed and some sites that require Flash tell me to upgrade to the current version.  I have uninstalled and re-installed several times with the same result.  I am running Windows 7.  Any suggestions?

I'm assuming you're using IE.  If so, please ensure ActiveX Filtering is disabled.  See ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer.

You're welcome.  I'm glad it was an easy solution and not something more complicated.
