installing flash player

installed flash player and it states it is complete but when i go to play an item the flash player needed symbol comes up

What operating system/browser are you trying it on?  Which version flash does it say you have when you go here?

windows 7 - internet explorer - tried every which way possible even using other browser - nothing works - please be advised i am totally lost on all this stuff

can you try the steps I've provided on this thread?  http://forums.adobe.com/message/5386398#5386398

It should get you the latest flash player version and removing whatever junk was left over from before.  Let me know if you need help or if anything is unclear.
