Integrated videos do not run

Hi,

I hope I'm asking for help in the right topic. If not please administrators feel free to move it to another place.

I have Flash Player installed on my system, but I don't know why, it stopped running integrated videos (I don't know about facebook videos or video games or else since It's the laptop I use for my professional stuffs). Also on websites like Napster, the sound does not work anymore.

For both issues it's mentionned on the websites that the problem is Flash player being uninstalled or not being updated.

Here is my configuration :

System:

Windows 10 Professionnel (full updated)

Windows 64-bit , French

Processor x64

Version 1607

Computer model:

Dell precision M4700 -> all the drivers are updated.

Flash Player:

Version 23.0.0.207

Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0

Type: PPAPI

Javascript : V8 5.4.500.41

Browser:

Google Chrome

Version 54.0.2840.99 m (full updated)

(Just FYI I also tried to run the same videos with Windows Edge and it doesn't work either)

I've tried many things so far:

  • Of course I started by checking if Flash player was well installed on my computer, according to the Flash player checking tool on Adobe help page, It's ok
  • Activation/enabling Flash Player in Chrome browser plugins
  • Uninstall then install again Flash player
  • Uninstall Flash player using the specific Adobe uninstall application (I don't remember the name)
  • By the way some Flash files are not deleted when you uninstall Flash. Hence I tried to delete them manually. An authorization was requiered. I downloaded a software that gives you the permission to do so. Still didn't work (don't know why, I couldn't delete them, and again, I'm the administrator of the computer so...).
  • I've tried updating by clicking directly on the .exe programs and .dll and everything that could be updated.
  • Some succeded to make Flash Player work again by moving some files from one file to another. I think it was Flash files in Macromedia and Shockwaves stuffs, but honestly I don't remember everything after such manipulations. Apparently, for some people, moving the files worked as they were not at the right place). Didn't work for me.

I can't remember everything since it's been days the problem remains. Anyway the point is to say I've try the most common solution.

I have the feeling my problem is pretty common given the amount of people going through the same issue, and finding no solution.

If you need any precision please tell me.

I admit that I'm kinda fed up with this, considering the time spent on this issue (seemingly, many other people experience the same thing, thus I assume it's not just me). I'm becoming crazy

Please work through the video troubleshooting guide.

If you're still stuck, please follow the directions in the guide on providing the dxdiag report and additional information about what you tested and saw.
