Is McAffee Security Scan essential for installing or using the Flash Player addon for Firefox?

Adobe earns commission from companies like McAfee, Google etc., if the user chooses to download any of them with a free Adobe product. But they can cause compatibility issues with other anti-virus scanners which you may already have installed, so it's better to avoid them by removing the checkmark.
