It will then not install to 100% even if you click continue  (when Chrome is closed)

System

Windows 10 pro version 1803 os build 17134.48

Chrome Version 67.0.3396.79 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Pc i7 3gb, 1TB hdd, 500Gb SD, 16gb RAM

I cannot uninstall the PPAPI as it says Chrome has to be closed down, its not open?

It's possible some other process is identifying itself as Chrome.  When you get this error, open Task Manager, select to view processes for all users and look for any process identifying itself as Chrome or Chromium.

As my colleague indicated, Google does embed Flash Player in Chrome and there is no reason to install it separately.  The error you're getting is because whatever process is identifying itself as Chrome has the PPAPI plugin loaded and you're attempting to re-install the same version.  You most likely just need to enable Flash in the browser.  See Google's help doc Use or fix Flash audio & video - Computer - Google Chrome Help  for assistance.

    Hi,

For Chrome Browser, Flash Player comes installed with Chrome and all updates are pushed by Google as part of Chrome updates. If you still want to go ahead and get the latest version of Flash Player yourself, download the same from Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions page.

    Thanks!

No, never ever follow links in a "you need to update Flash" pop-up. These are often fakes, designed to infect your computer, and designed to look exactly like Adobe. If you do need to get Flash, or a pop-up tells you to, ignore the popup and go to http://get.adobe.com/flash. If you install the latest from Adobe and still get the pop-up, it may tell you it wasn't real (or they just can't get it).

But there is more... Flash is now included with Chrome. You shouldn't download it at all, because only the Chrome included with Flash will be used. Updating Chrome will update Flash.

Where are you downloading it from? Please give the exact web address/URL?

The download was from a pop up saying a latest version is available, click here. This took you to the Adobe Flash webpage and had a three stage download, install. So it could only have been the official Adobe site.

I couldn't get it to work, tried a number of things but I did update Chrome to the latest  version shown above and it finally downloaded.
