Latest Flash Player security alert - I have a licence already but have had to re-apply?!?!

Hi all

I think this may fall on deaf ears (Adobe's). I am responsible for a network of over 650 machines. This week there is an important Flash Player update because of security issues. I've had a licence for years now to download the MSI, but on logging into my account today I have had to re-apply for the rights to do this!!! Why are you doing this Adobe? I have nearly a 1,000 students that cannot perform Flash Based tests because I cannot update your software, because you make it SO hard to obtain it.

Adobe's system now now tells me I have to wait 3 days for an answer to my application!!!

Adobe needs to do something about this, because it is IMPORTANT!

Flash Player distribution license is valid for one year.  If you were prompted to re-apply it most likely means the license is not current.  If you're license is current, provide the previously requested information and we'll follow-up on it.  Otherwise, please apply for a new license.

Thank you for answer and we'll await the Licencing teams response hopefully within the next 48 hours.

However, it still begs the question why we need a licence for the free software that is still key in many situations.

I know others are making this point  and I agree that Adobe should revisit their policy on this. After all if Adobe patches Flash Player they must surely see the importance of ALL users, including organisations, having freer and quick access to the update.

    Hi,

Probably your earlier license was for accessing distribution3 page which was decommissioned on 29th September. We had already put up this information on the page. Since you have already re-registered for the distribution license you would get an email containing a link within 48 hours from noreply@adobe.com. In case you do not get the same private message the email used for the license application so that we can take it up with the licensing team.

    Thanks!
