Latest version of Flash crashing

Hello,

I recently updated Adobe flash to 20.0.0.286. After installation, several websites' flash components (YouTube videos, etc) would no longer load on my computer browser. I checked these same websites on my phone and the websites loaded properly. I also tried loading these websites on two different browsers (Firefox and Chrome) and both would crash. Other (non-Flash) websites work fine on both browsers. There would be no formal error message - eventually the browser asks me if I want to kill the process, or the web page just crashes. I have also tried restarting the browsers and restarting my computer - these did not solve the problem.

I am using Windows 8.1. My version of Firefox is 43.0.4. Here is the information from my Chrome browser:

Google Chrome47.0.2526.111 (m)

I think a crash report has been sent from each browser at least once, though I am not entirely sure. What should I do next?

Links to the things that are crashing would be really helpful.

Well basically Chrome is locking up.

I uninstalled Flash and not having the problem now.  Not sure what version of Flash to install back on though...

    Hi,

could you please try steps mentioned at below thread and see if it works:

    https://forums.adobe.com/message/8445544#8445544

Can you please confirm that you are on the latest version of Chrome . Then, try these steps:

    • Go to chrome://plugins and check “Always Allowed” under the Flash plugin (this is Chrome's built-in flash plugin, Pepperflash)
    • If you have more than one Flash plugin installed, please disable one version by going to  chrome://plugins, click on “Details” in the upper right corner, and “disable” under one of the two Flash plugins
    • Load the content in Incognito mode (menu>new Incognito tab) to see if there is any improvement
    • Try to reset your Chrome browser settings
    • If that doesn't work, try disabling Pepper flash (built-in plugin) and enabling the standalone version of Adobe Flash.
    • Try turning off the hardware acceleration. Menu > Settings > go to Advanced Settings and look under 'System' for the options below, and uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available."

    Thanks

I've started having the same problem after installing latest version of Flash 20,0,0,286.

Using latest version of Chrome, 48.0.2564.97m.

Have not changed anything before the crashes started except for updating Flash.

Getting Blue Screen Of Death - DPC_watchdog_violation.

Very frustrating - can flash be restored to previous working version???
