Lenovo Yoga 2 - A plugin (Shockwave Flash) isn't responding.

I also have exactly the same issues. In an effort to defeat it I'm now running four browsers - chrome, firefox, IE and Edge, and all of them are doing this. It's unpredictable and infuriating.

Please advise.

And a question - why is this thread marked 'assumed  answered' when clearly it has not been resolved?

I branched this out to another thread since it seems distinct from the thread that you originally replied to, but all of the traffic related to the post didn't get moved over.

I'm going to recap the conversation here for posterity:

    • Hi Jeromie Thanks for this. I followed your instructions and turned off hardware acceleration in Chrome. Not sure if it has worked yet. Will test a few sites. Your suggestion on doing the same in Flash is problematic however since the pages running Flash seize up, of course! I've not been able to get far enough in to follow your instructions! But will keep trying and report back. thanksSue

Oh, that's certainly no good.  It's probably not going to help then. If you haven't rebooted since you've started having this problem, start there.  If it's still persisting after the reboot, please make sure you have everything up-to-date with Windows Update and Chrome Update (go to Chrome > About Chrome) and make sure you have the latest version running.

aha! I had restarted Chrome but not rebooted. I've done that now and it's looking good. I managed to get into the picture of the tree and disabled hardware acceleration. Facebook seems to be running ok in Chrome now. I'm off to test the other browsers.

Looks like you've cracked it Jeromie, for me at least! Following your advice, I turned off hardware acceleration in Chrome and via the Adobe instructions you posted.  It works now in Chrome, Firefox, IE and Edge. Thank you so much!

Hi again Jerome, I'm afraid all my old Flash problems have returned with a vengeance. A couple of days ago my laptop updated itself with a new version that includes Cortana, which I didn't have before. Now all the fixes we worked out in September have stopped working and I'm back where I started. Do you have any suggestions please?

I think the new Windows 10 version is 1511

    thanks

    Sue
