Lost my audio

Recently did an update w/ adobe now I have no audio on internet explorer, etc.

I kept getting reminders that my updates were "pending". Now I wish I ignored them.

on 5/17/2013 i updated with adobe reader X (10.1.7) and today, adobe flash player 11 activeX thinking that would fix my audio that's not working.

The update, and or download today could not finish, it said to close internet explorer and retry which didnt work. Tried twice, still not finished and still no audio on windows media player and internet explorer. My card games do have audio, but thats all................
