Mac book yosemite keeps asking me to update flash player

I recently upgraded my Macbook to yosemite and when I go to certain websites to stream video's or movies it keeps telling me I need to update my flash player and nothing will play. I have tried downloading the latest flash player but I keep encountering the same problem. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
