I have tried everything mentioned to Ms Rach below - nothing works. I have OS 10.5.8/2.4Ghz processor/Safari 5.0.3. When I open Firefox everything works fine. I wasn't having any problems up until yesterday when I was promoted to update FlashPlayer. What next??

I appreciate your help! Unfortunately, I had to keep looking. I found out that Safari must be in 32 bit (not 64 bit) in order to use FP. I believe that this pertains to Snow Leopard.

For my leopard 10.9.8 32  "get info" UNclicking "open with Rosetta" under "get info". That seemed to fix it for now.

Here are a couple of links that others might find helpful.

    Again - Thank you!

Hi, LOL, I never thot to ask about asking you if you were using the 32bit browser! I think it pertains to any 64bit OS, Mac or otherwise. Now there is a 64bit version of Flash Player, but it's in beta yet (called Square)

Well I'm happy you found the solution. I'm surprised you didn't receive a message to that effect. Guess they can't cover everything:-)

Thank you for the links and explaining how you found this info.

Also thanks for marking your thread as answered and glad you put Mac in your subject line.

If I ever buy a Mac, I'll have info to refer to, LOL

I'm still hoping for some help - below are things that I have tried:

Adobe Uninstaller first before trying to Install the latest version of Flash Player? - yes

What browser(s) do you have Installed? If Safari is one of them, has it been updated recently? 5.0.3

Use each browser that you have and go to this Adobe site and let me know if you can see the Flash logo animate(spin) and the Flash Player version displayed. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ - Firefox - yes, Safari - no

Look into the HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ directory and see if you have the below two files:
        Flash Player.plugin - yes
        flashplayer.xpt - yes

This site may help also: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/784614?tstart=0

If you want to start over, this Troubleshooting Guide for Mac gives instructions for Uninstalling and Installing with screenshots along the way so you can see that you are doing it correctly.

    Plug-ins - Enabled

    Thanks!

Hi, Is there also a plugin in the Safari browser under Preferences in the Security Tab that needs Enabled? I don't have a Mac, just trying to learn how it works:-)

    Thanks,

I appreciate any assistance that you can give!

The "enable plug-ins" box is checked.
