Macromedia flash 9 is not detected by some sites

Hi,

Here is the problem I live on OS X using latest (.16) Flash 9 and its standard browser (Safari). Sites including my bank claim I don't have flash installed. It includes Dolby labs too.

I heard there is a script bug on those sites which has problem seeing further than flash 8.

May I ask what to do? Contact thousands of sites webmasters to get a new flash detection script?

Bank is a different issue. If they change a single byte of code, they must test it,review it, closed beta test it. They aren't running a personal page, we live in evil phishing etc times.

Anyone can offer an insight on this issue and is there a chance that Adobe/Macromedia can tweak the plugin?

I hate to downgrade plugins/programs but it seems I will have to do it.

Having the same issue with flash 9 in IE on an XP machine. Some sites allow for an "opt out" of flash detection - but I haven't found very many of those yet.

Wish I could offer some advice...but at least you know someone else is having the same problem.
