Question

monitor aspect

Hello,

I'm using screen resolution 1280x768 or 1152x768 no my 4:3 monitor.

That mean - the screen pixels are NOT square (not 1:1).

On video players like mplayer or vlc - it is no problem. I can set pixel aspect ratio manualy, but when playing on-line video with FLASH PLAYER the aspect ratio is wrong while FP assumes pixels to be 1:1.

How can I correct this ? Is there a config parameter to set ? How, where ?

Thanks for help.

I don't believe you'll be able to do this.  I suspect you'll need to reencode but I'm not a video expert so hopefully someone else will chime in.

I'm user of FP - I watch with FP videos from others - from Internet.

So no reencodig possible - this has nothing to do with my Q.

BTW - if really FP has no way to set aspect ratio of attached display, then this is definitely a Bug.

E.g. many plasma TVs are 16:9 but with 4:3 resolution 1024x768 - so not square pixels. Watch on them FLASH video with FP is possible but deformed.

When viewing in Full-screen then FP uses SW scaling - so there should be no problem to include processing of pixel aspect ratio parameter too.

I'll pass this question along to our video team, but I'd also recommend creating a new feature request over at bugbase.adobe.com and then letting other users know about it so they can go cast their votes.
