Thanks for the advice, but I finally gave up and installed Firefox and that solved the problem. I'll just use it for MLB.com and continue with Edge as default browser.

It sounds like you have the Windows 10 Creators Update installed.  To verify go to Settings > System > About.  If Version is 1703 and OS Build is 15063.96 you have the Creators Update.  In this update Microsoft changed the default behaviour of Flash as it moves to preferring HTML5 over Flash in Edge, and setting Flash as click-to-play by default.  Even on our test pages, since all Flash is click-to-play on Edge in the Creators Update.

Please do the following:

  • Look on the address field.  Is there a puzzle piece?

  • If so, click that to display the 'Adobe Flash content was blocked message, with the option to 'allow once' or 'always allow' for this site

If the puzzle piece is not visible in the address field, do the following:

  • Look for the 'Download Flash' link or the 'Get Adobe Flash Player' button on the page
  • Click on the link or button
  • The 'Adobe Flash content was blocked' message will display
  • Click either 'Allow once' or 'Always Allow'

Note that this new behaviour is per-site, so you will need to do this for other sites that use Flash.  Microsoft does not offer an 'always allow, for all sites' option.  For more information, see Extending User Control of Flash with Click-to-Run - Microsoft Edge Dev BlogMicrosoft Edge Dev Blo

That page is broken for Edge and IE users on Windows 10.  Edge has been a moving target, so we keep having to revise it...

Anyway, this advice should get you going.

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:

Internet Explorer 11 and Edge introduce a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.

You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11

If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.
