Question

Need advanced help with disabling pepper flash+adblock with standard flash player. At wits end.

So the latest update to the built in chrome pepper flash completely broke the ability to alt tab with fullscreen videos. I like to play my games and alt tab to twitch streams or youtube videos but pepper flash instantly minimizes the videos when you attempt to tab to them.

I have partially fixed this problem by installing flash on firefox and IE and using that version in chrome instead (by going to plugins, disabling pepper flash and enabling standard flash from firefox). It fixes the issue i describe above and i can alt tab to fullscreen video but here comes the problem, ad block does not function with the standard flash player. I watch lots of twitch streams and if you are familiar with twitchtv you know how vital having adblock installed is. Ive tried installing various versions of ad block through chrome and none work, i found one adblock that blocked youtube ads but it did not work with the more important one, twitch. Ive even tried various adblock versions in firefox even though i doubt that has any effect on chrome even tho its using the standard flash player that was installed by firefox.

Now im simply stuck, i need to choose between the functionality ive been used to for years (being able to alt tab to fullscreen videos) or having adblock functional, neither are acceptable to me. Ive already made a massive thread on the chrome forums with zero help, no one knows how to get things functioning properly. I cannot change my browser to firefox i need to stick with chrome.

Like the title says i am at my wits end, ive messed around with things for literally hours and cannot find a proper solution. I was told by the chrome forums to make a thread here because the issue is with pepper flash and not chrome itself, but i have a sneaking suspicion this new pepper flash player functionality has to do with chromecast button, ive never used chromecast but i assume people were having problems so they disabled the ability to alt tab to fullscreen videos? Just a wild guess.

Any help is truly appreciated : )

As expected no replies : (

Is my issue that uncommon that no one can relate to it?

    1. I couldnt alt tab to fullscreen videos

    2. After discovering using a different version of flash player fixed this issue adblock no longer functions in this version.

Are my only options switching to another browser?

Are my only options switching to another browser?

Because PepperFlash is modified and embedded by Google, making it "proprietary" to the browser.... Yes.
