Need help severely!

Since January, my browser has been a little "messed up" with the Flash. A while back I had to install the flash player every time I went on a website that used it... For the last two months or so, however, my SBC Yahoo! DSL homepage says "get flash" to view the news on the page. I click the link that goes directly to the Macromedia Flash Player download page and download it. I click the "Download Now" or whatever button says, and no box that says "Install" appears, it just goes to the page that says "Macromedia Flash successfully installed". After this happens, I go back to my homepage and it still says that the flash player is not installed and I need to install it to view the features on the page.

This is extremely irritating since this has happened recently and has never happened before. Can I fix this? Please help!

Thanks in advance!

This is getting ridiculous. If this is happening to more than one person than someone, including Macromedia itself, must know what is wrong and/or have a solution.
