Need to have 11.300 flashplayer or Facebook games don't work

What happens when I have a more modern version of Adobe FlashPlayer?  Then I have problems with my Windows 8.1 laptop.  I get blackscreened sometimes when trying to load anything that requires the flash player.  What do I do as the  latest is update on my computer (18.0?) and many sites won't work, including Facebook games that use the 11.300 version.  Please help me?  Thanks.
