Question

Newest Flash Player downloads, but old version still shows.

I just recently downloaded Flash Player 28.0.0.137, but when I install it, 28.0.0.126 is still shown as the version in my browser plugins. Any idea why this could happen?

I'm using Pale Moon 27.6.2 on Windows 10 Pro.

Okay, I uninstalled Flash Player, then installed the new version. That seemed to do the trick.

Not sure why it didn't just update the previous version, since it has always done that before.

    Hi,

It's possible it didn't install correctly, or the appropriate plugin was not installed.  If you provide the FlashInstall log files I can investigate further.  The files are located at:

    • 32-bit OS: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstall32.log
    • 64-bit OS: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstall64.log AND C:\Windows\SysWow64\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstal32.log - both files are required from a 6-bit OS.

Upload the files to cloud.acrobat.com/send using the instructions at How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud , or some other file sharing service that doesn't require account log in to access.  Post the link to the uploaded file(s) in your reply.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Could you please restart the browser and see the version again.

    Hi,

Could you please follow the below steps:

    1. Go to Control Panel >All Control Panel Items.

    2. Click on Flash Player.

    3. Go to Updates tab and check NPAPI Plugin version.

Additionally, open Firefox browser if installed on your machine and go to Flash Player Help page and click on Check Now and check the version of Flash Player installed on your machine.

If either of the two, both versions are stated as 28.0.0.126, then you can download the latest version of Flash Player from Adobe - Adobe Flash Player Download.

    Thanks.
