Newest Install.exe stops at 50%

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to install the latest update for Flash, and i've gone to the official link. Downloaded it>Double clicked to install> and tried both allow auto updates, and manual updates, but no matter which, it always installs/downloads up to about 50%, then stops saying, "Adobe Flash Player: Installation failed. Click 'Finish' for further assistance"

I use Firefox, and also tried in IE to download the installer, but it gave me the same results. I doubht that makes any difference.

Something I was reading said try downloading the offline installer, but that installer told me a newer version is available, and just redirected me back to the beginning where I was downloading the update from to begin with @ Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions

For the time being, Flash works; i'm getting a box stating my current flash is vulnerable and I have to keep clicking allow to use it or firefox blocks it. But I've had this problem before in the past and learning from that one, uninstalling flash all together did not work... it was eventually resolved with the next Flash update.

Can anyone help out on why this may be happening? Or if there is an up-to-date offline installer? Or is it just wait till an updated version comes along?

Specs if needed...

Windows XP: Home (Don't laugh, its a classic)

Serv Pack 3

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks, M

    Hi,

The screenshot of the installation screen is not of the offline installer.

Did you try installing the offline installer that I suggested???

1)Download the uninstaller from: Uninstall Flash Player for Windows

The Flash Player Uninstaller is going to uninstall all copies of Flash Player from your system.

    2) Open the page: Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows 7 and earlier

Under the heading "Still having problems" click on the specific link to NPAPI/PPAPI/ActiveX plugin.

    3) Ensure all the browsers are closed. Run the uninstaller and then the offline installer.

    Thanks!

    Hi Divya,

I tried that. Downloaded the uninstaller, removed flash and tried downloading and installing it again.

Same thing, gets to 50% and does the same thing.

Is there any updated offline installer, as I have no flash now?

    Thanks,
