Question

No audio when playing videos on OS X

(Thanks for your time, Chris…)

Maybe I don't understand question .. video will play, and I have control. Just 'silent movies.'

Examples:

If someone sends me an email containing a video and I click on it, I get nothing but sound - no picture. If I click on the 'attachment paperclip' it loads a window SOMETIMES with sound.

When I attempt to view a youtube video, whether link or URL access direct, no sound.

Again: MAC PRO LION / CHROME (now) / Adobe flash, quicktime, real player are 'players' I'm aware of.

Thank you.

mj

    Hi MJ,

I moved your post into a new discussion, as your problem is unrelated to the thread you were replying too.

Could you do a quick test for me and try both of these links.  Do you hear audio in either one?

    Test 1

    Test 2

    Thanks,

    Chris

Thank you, Chris. (I'm pretty new at the forums… and con' see how to reply on the page, so replying to your message.)

Before I clicked on your links, I 'updated everything I had already done (MAC) and then tried your links. Using Chrome, the first link worked perfectly; the second visually poor and no sound.

I tried youtube just now, and it's working. Did your test 'fix' it.. something seems to have done so. Here's crossing fingers!

    Thanks!

Well, it looks like I gave you the wrong two test links!  Oops, but regardless I'm glad to hear Youtube is working.  Post back if your run into problems again and I'll find the correct tests to try
