I have the same problem on XP SP3.  Took me a long time to figure out what was causing it.  As soon as I go to a site with flash my screen never goes into standby.  Doesn't matter which browser I use (IE, Firefox or Chrome).  Closing the browser does not solve the problem.  I've tried systematically killing processes using task manager and nothing solves it.  Only solution is a reboot.  Very annoying!

There's a way without reboot: choose power options in the control panel and set a new time (or the selected again!) for monitor standby. After this the display enters standby again, till the next flash video is viewed. But anyway it's absolutely annoying and I'm sure it's a bug, what else?!

Thanks for the tip!  Much better than rebooting.

Final release and still not working probably. Even if i closes all Broweser Windows (wich should not be

requiered) the monitor standby is not reset after watching movies with the

flashplayer. The screen trys to go dark. but switched back on imidiatly.

With the browsers closed and you still have this issue the it will not be a Flash Player issue. We did have some timing issues early on in Windows that were resolved later on in the development cycle.  It sounds to me that its possible you have other software running that could be causing what you are seeing.

But it only occurs after playing videos with flashplayer. Until then everything is fine. And

it doenst matter if i use it from opera or internet explorer. As soon as i watched a youtube video the monitor

or standby is screwed up. And no trouble with browsing and standby if i dont do a flash thing.

This is fixed in Flash Player 10.1 which is currently in RC.  You can download it from www.labs.adobe.com.

Doesnt seem to do the trick for me. Do i have to uninstall the previous version in a special way?

It got even worse with the RCs (nothing fixed there about this problem), now i dont even have to use fullscreen to disable my monitor standby permanetly, just wachting youtube in the browser window is enough. Im on XP btw.
