Question

No sound on newest version

The other morning I tried to watch a video through youtube and couldn't get any sound. I figured that I'd accidentally adjusted the sound controls, so I went to try and change them back, but the buttons were greyed out. It said I didn't have any sound device, even though it displayed that it detected a sound card. Then I tried to watch a video through Netflix, which doesn't use Flash, and it worked fine. The Windows media players also work fine. But sites like Hulu and Youtube don't. So that's why I'm assuming it's a Flash problem -- and I've tried just about everything I can think of to fix it, from trying to add a new .reg file to making sure the sound is playing through the right speakers, I've reinstalled Flash about ten times, etc. It's just bizarre that it suddenly stopped working. Does anyone have ANY idea?

First thing to check with sound problems: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83739.html

If that does not help: http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm

Note that if you are on Vista or Windows 7, the folders to delete in the 1st item are %APPDATA%\Adobe\Flash Player and %APPDATA%\Macromedia\Flash Player

Hi, I didn't see any computer info listed. OS/32bit/64bit, browser(s) Installed and versions?

Test all browsers here, can you see the Flash logo animation? What version of Flash Player is displayed?

    Thanks,

It's a 32 bit and I use Firefox 4.0 and IE. Both displayed the logo fine, and the flash version is 10.2.153.1
