No Sound plays while Plugin is active

Hello. I am using Windows 7 (64 bit I believe) with Firefox 35. For some reason whenever I have the "Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.257" plugin activated, there isn't any sound coming out of my spreakers or headphones. This issue has been going on for some time now, and has a problem with all websites, including Youtube, Gamespot, and Twitch. Curiously, whenever I deactivate the plugin, the sound works just fine for Youtube, but most other sites will demand that I activate the plugin, and then no sound plays. Also rather odd, Youtube videos still play while the plugin is deactivated, just without the sound. Early on, I could fix this somewhat by turning up the computer's volume way up, but that doesn't seem to help anymore.

Can I have some help with this? Thank you in advance.

I think that this is a known bug, where Flash Player doesn't have permission to write the volume preference to the registry and so it doesn't stick, and so the slider always gets set to 0.  This problem is unique to Firefox, so using IE or Chrome would solve it outright.

When you have a Flash instance running that's supposed to play sound, click the volume icon on your taskbar and there should be a Flash Player column when you expand it.  My guess is that the slider is off.  You can slide it up and it will work, but I'm pretty sure that when you exit Firefox, it will go back to 0 the next time.

We fixed it for a while, but it came back and it's been in the queue for a while.  It's assigned, so it's just a matter of someone getting it working again.
