"Notify me to install updates" option doesn't work!

There was a new version of Flash Player but i have no any notifications from Adobe. Why?

In Flash Player settings option  "Notify me to install updates" is turned on.

An old version was: 11.9.900.152

A new version: 11.9.900.170

OS: Windows7 64bit

I have Flash Player plugin(for FF,Opera and others) and  ActiveX Control for MSIE.

It could be any number of things.

Date/Time settings were changed or adjusted.

System cache corruption.

Flash Player DLL files corrupted. (Most likely culprit)

Those are just three. I NEVER allow automatic updates of ANYTHING (on any of 10 systems I use daily - Windows or Mac.) I make a habit of checking for updates on Tuesdays (Windows) and Wednesdays (Apple) every week.
