Pepper Flash Player in Chrome hangs on RTMP NetConnection

Hello Everyone.

We've already submitted the Pepper Flash Player issue with the bug base here (Bug#4010090 - Flash Player in Chrome hangs on RTMP NetConnection) but just wanted get a discussion going and possibly get Adobe (Jeromie 🙂  to contact Google and let them know that their recent updates have introduced a serious bug.

In short we are experiencing problems with PPAPI flash in the Chrome Browser (pepper).  If you reboot your system with the lastest Pepper Flash and Chrome and go directly too a site that requires an RTMP NetConnection you will find that no connection can be made on any ports.  We've tested this over and over again and have come to the conclusion this is a newly introduced bug.  Our lack of traffic too our services confirms it as well which is why we have reached out to Adobe and the developer community.

A perfect test is:

http://www.therealtimeweb.com/index.cfm/2004/10/2/fms-port-tester?CFID=1291705&CFTOKEN=48414760

You will notice that no port connections can be made and if you try to browse anywhere else the Flash Player will crash.

Any suggestions or recommendations (aside from using a different browser) would be greatly appreciated.

Hello.

We have determined that this issue is a result of the Avast Antivirus program. It seems to be a problem with all versions of Avast, even the free version with no Firewall.

We will let Avast know of this issue. We would recommend that the chromium developer community let Avast know as well.

Regards
