Flash Player will not work.

I am running Window 7, IE 9 32 bit.  I have tried everything I know to try.  Consider me a computer idiot.

I have taken all suggestions Ive seen on this site. When I went to the test page, it said: " You have already installed blah blah version. lashplayer.  But---every time I go to a site that uses flashplayer, it tells me nothing is installed and when I try to install it again, it quits half way through or says 'Download will continue after the following programs are closed---IE'.

I am also having the same problems.  I have tried almost every suggestion on

this forum and nothing has worked.  I have also created my own thread but have gotten no response.  Not happy with the Adobe help and support at all!!!!

Hi, I have researched Cyber Defender and most everything I've read is that it is free to Install it, but if you have any malware you need to buy it. From the various sites and comments, it would not be anything I would Install on my system. They appear to have the "my clean PC" site also. It doesn't appear that either one worked very well for you.

You can keep both of them if you like, I don't have any problem with what users want on their systems. However, when you get your system clean, I would suggest Installing an Anti-Virus program that not only protects you from getting malware, but can remove it also. Just keep in mind that all Anti-Virus/Spyware programs must be totally Uninstalled prior to Installing any new Anti-Virus program.

I am not criticizing you, just giving you some advice and other users that may read this. I'm sure you want your system protected and I don't fault you for choosing this one. Unless Users take the time to research the AV's, then they wouldn't know. I happen to have had the time to dig a little deeper into this one. Their ads in my opinion are misleading and they do sound good so I can see why some have it.

    Thanks,

Thank you for your advice on Cyber Defender.  However that really doesn't change the fact that I cannot install the flash player.  Is there anything else that I can try?

Hi, You didn't say, but I assume MBAM removed that malware. Now you need to take a look at this thread and see if a Kill-bit has been set in your Registry.

Pat, the other person that helps on the Forum has this info.

Let me know and then we'll decide how to proceed.

Hi, Using IE, go to Tools, Manage addons and find Shockwave Flash Object. Is it Installed and Enabled?

Using IE, check this test site. You should be able to see the Flash logo animate(spin) and the version of Flash Player displayed.

I do not see Shockwave installed at all.  I also do not see an icon at that website.

Hi, I am going to give you this thread to follow the directions I just posted to.

Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download and SAVE the FP IE Installer to your Desktop: Use the one for Windows/Internet Explorer EXE Installer
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
Use the Administrator Account -A Must.
Disable any msn/aol/yahoo messenger services in the system tray(area near the clock)
After that, then CLOSE all browser Windows, you only want to be looking at your Desktop
You may need to disable any Anti-Virus until FP is Installed.
RUN the Uninstaller and when it is finished, Reboot(restart) your computer
RUN the Installer and when it is finished, Reboot your computer
Restart you Anti-Virus if needed, then test here. You should be able to see the Flash logo animate(spin) and the version of Flash Player will be displayed. test the browser here: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    Thanks,
