    You can disable plugin_container.exe with the following method

    • type about:config into the Firefox address bar
    • disable (set to false) the following entries
      • dom.ipc.plugins.enabled
      • dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npctrl.dll
      • dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npqtplugin.dll
      • dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll
      • dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.nptest.dll

    Thank you. That would be similar to our older versions of Firefox right, in respect to playing the FLV files?

    DLM --> Download Manager.

    Hi, From what I understand this is Mozilla Firefox related. I would check on the Firefox support forum and see what they are saying about it. FF have had several updates recently, the latest being 3.6.8. Perhaps they have some info on that.

    For the past two versions when FF is updated and started it asks me to goto Adobe and download the Flash Player update. Adobe DLM downloads and restarts FF to install something. That is where the problem actually seems to start.

    As far as I know Firefox uses the DLM to download Flash Player. Someone was copying and pasting certain msconfig info pertaining to FF today and also the plugin container.exe and changing certain settings and recommending that as a fix.

    My opinion of that and on one thread suggested that until Mozilla Firefox is suggesting that, it should not be posted as a fix. How does one  know what affect that would have on the 3.6.7 which just came out and the 3.6.8 that followed a few days ago?

    Anyone can tamper with whatever settings they please on their own computer, but to suggest them as a "fix" for Firefox issues when there is no one fix is reckless in my opinion. Many users can create more problems by following this kind of a suggestion if they don't know any different.

    That is why I suggested on anything pertaining to that to check with Mozilla Firefox. If anyone has info from Mozilla Firefox on that, hopefully they will post it.

    Now if you have a problem with the DLM or Flash Player with FF, then you'll need to post your computer info and describe what problem you are having. I know the DLM acts up somtimes, but Mozilla Firefox uses it.

    Thanks,
