Possible solution to getting flash player to work with IE 9 and other browsers

I made many efforts to upgrade to the new flash player 10....nothing worked.  I am running Windows Vista Home premium, 32 bit, with IE 9.  I kept getting the "flash player download was successful and is now running, etc"...but nothing was working.  By chance I clicked on the "tools" icon in the top right corner of my page....clicked on "safety" and noticed the Active X filter was checked.  I unchecked it and....presto......now the latest version of Adobe Flash Player is working.  Give it a try if you are having problems with your download and/or getting the flash player to run.

Glad you were able to solve this.  What's odd is that this option (ActiveX Filtering) is supposed to be disabled by default.  Any ideas how this might have become enabled on your system?

I have no idea how the Active X filter in IE 9 became "enabled"...but computers being computers....well, sometimes strange things can happen.
