problem in displaying some SWF objects that contain actionscript2

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have a course that was built 3 years ago. It contains some swf objects with actionscript2. It worked good so far. However, with the new flash player version I currently have (flash player 20.0.0.286), I'm having problems with these elements. It seems like these SWFs don't function anymore. (Example: some of them were designed to function as simple games like matching cards game (the user has to open cards to match words with pictures). Once the user open the first two cards, the SWF freeze with no response to any other actions!)

I have Chrome/Firefox browsers (the same problem on both) and windows 8.1 as an operating system.

My question is: is there any problem running actionscript2 with flash player 20.0.0.286? What can the solution be?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Rana Risheh

    Hi Maria,

one of the older versions that my SWF was working on is: flash player 16.0.0.257. It was working also on version 17.0.0.190. I don't know when it stopped working exactly as there are many issued versions since flash player 17.0.0.190 was issued. That was about 6 months time from now.

Thank you for your help and support.

    Hi,

Please file a bug at http://bugbase.adobe.com/‌.  Include as much information as possible (os/browser, info on the course, etc), including a .swf (or source file if possible) exhibiting the behaviour.  Please post the link to the bug record here.

    Thank you.

    Hi Maria,

    Thank you for your answer.

I have posted the SWF and the FLA file that exhibits the behaviour. The file was created using Adobe flash professional CS6 (using ActionScript2).

Please note that the same file was working on the older versions of flash player. But it is not working on flash player version 20.0.0.286 (I’m not sure exactly since which version of flash player my file was not working well). I tried to play the file on both (Chrome 47.0.2526.111 m) and Firefox (43.0.4). I have Windows 8.1 as an operating system.

In this game it is supposed for the user to click on cards to match similar pictures together. If they are matched the user can continue by clicking the other cards. Otherwise the game will wait for a short time and then the cards will turn off again so the user has to pick other choices. The game ends when the user matches all pictures together.

Do you think the problem is in the way of programming or it is something related to ActionScript2 with the new player?

Thank you very much for your help and support.

    Best Regards,
