Problem with FP 11.1.102.62 and Firefox

Dear all,

First: Please excuse possible "beginner"-questions. "Computers- and-me" usually has a bit of "Cows-and-Aliens" (they don´t know each other....).

Yesterday I was informed by my PC, that a new update for the Adobe-Flash-Player is available. Until then everything was fine.

After updating to the latest Version (11.1.102.62) via the official Adobe-Page, I simply can´t get legal video-streams to acutally run in Firefox. They do in IE, though (...sometimes).

My System:

Windows Vista (32 bit); Browser: Firefox 10.0.2 (x86de);

Addon: Adblock Plus (But this has been runnig bevore as well and never given me problems with Streams)

Trys, I already made to possibly solve this problem:

- Checked the "Plugin" for Firefox  => Is there and running

- Uninstalled the whole thing, restarted PC, started again

- Followed the instructions on http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_Look_for_downloading_problems

Some of the "Help"-Sites say that the ....62-Version is the latest, some still have the ...55-Version as the latest. Which one should I use? (Whenever I visit the Adobe-Website, 11.1.10.62 is announced as the latest version; so I understand this is not a beta?)

Do I miss something obvious (more than possible...) ?

Thank you,

Sonja

P.S: JUST managed to install the (archived) Version: 11.1.102.55 and this is running fine!! As I don´t know any better, I guess I´ll stay with that for now

Sonja... wondering if the archived version 11.1.102.55 has continued to function for you over the past 2 weeks.

Came across your posting above while searching for conversations that might related to my posting of a question a couple hours ago.

Meanwhile, I'm going to go back and try to download the older version (frustrating because I actually had the .62 version installed and functioning prior to the prompted update!).

    Go figure!!

    Thanks,

    Hey Arnie,

To install the 11....55 Version I had to deinstall the whole lot first. After all that done, everything worked fine with the archived version.

About a week ago the system announced another update available. This is a 12.- somethingVersion.

So I am no longer using the archived version but the actual one, which is runnig perfectly for me.

    Good luck,

    Sonja

I am curious what version you are actually running now (see http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/)?
