Problems with Adobe Flash Player

I didn't have adobe flash player on my laptop because its my nans and shes never really used it. I went to watch youtube and facebook videos and it wouldn't let me watch them and told me to download the latest adobe flash player (with link which i followed)

I downloaded the latest flash player, restarted the laptop and when i tried to watch video it still told me to install the latest flash player. On my programmes it says the most up to date player is installed.

Why am I having this problem? Someone please help, thanks.
