Question

problems with flash player

I have Windows 10 64 bit

I am running Firefox 46.0.1

I have Flash version 210042

I am constantly getting an error message that says Adobe Flash may be bust or stopped working. You can stop the plug-in or you can continue to see if plug-in works

And then everything freezes for a while. It is happening many many times a day.

Any solutions to this problem?

Hi and thanks for the reply.

I am using Windows 10 64 bit. You asked about the architecture I am using. Is that for

    Windows, Firefox or Adobe Flash.

How would I know which architecture I have for Firefox or Adobe Flash and if I do not have the 64 bit versions how do I get it.

    Appreciate your help. Thanks.

    Hi,

You can check in Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features.  If it's 64-bit the Firefox entry will have x64:

I suspect it's most likely the 32-bit variant as the 32-bit variant is the default download from getfirefox.com.  Users have to go to the Firefox for all site CS links to to download the 64-bit version, which most users don't.

    Hi Maria;

Thanks for the reply. I have downloaded the latest version of Firefox x86 (46.0.1) which should be 64 bit and I still am having the same problem with Shockwave Flash Player. So I have for the time being organized the Flash plugin so the Flash player can only be activated if it asks. That way it will not always be searching for it and that is when I get the error message that says it is busy or stopped working. I don’t know if that is the only way to stop getting that error message (which also takes time and kind of freezes my computer while it is searching for Flash) but it seems to be the best I can do with my knowledge. If you have any other thoughts please let me know. Thanks again for your cooperation.

What is the architecture of the version you are using; 32bit ( which is highly likely ) or 64 bit ?

If you are using 32 bit version I suggest installing the 64 bit variant, as it is way more stable and you should not run into that script and plugin crashing ( unless there is another issue on your machine ) I am in Windows 10 64 bit version and have been using the 64 bit version for sometime now and am more than pleased with the results. I too use to have issues with Firefox crashing all the time

The 64 bit version can co-exist with the 32 bit one, but it can be confusing as they both literally look alike.

IT can be found on this page:

Mozilla Firefox Web Browser — Download Firefox in your language — Mozilla

It should allow you to use the majority of your same settings, but things like java applets and Java in general is blacklisted just like in Chrome, and EDGE.

Hopefully this should work much better for you

    Best Regards
